Zbëd Zen Vrët (/zbɛd/ /zen/ [external] [lottery]) is a subtropical Large Town located in the Miqtpsukhe Moot of the Viceroyalty of Rosid.

The name Zbëd Zen Vrët is derived from the Wood Elvish language, as Zbëd Zen Vrët was founded by Iovail Vanzadur, who was culturaly Wood Elven.

Climate

Zbëd Zen Vrët has a yearly average temperature of 16°C (60°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 26°C (78°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a cold 7°C (44°F). Zbëd Zen Vrët receives an average of 210 cm/y (82 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the fall. Zbëd Zen Vrët covers an area of nearly 6 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 4594 m (15072 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Zbëd Zen Vrët was founded durring the late 11th century, by Iovail Vanzadur. The establishment of Zbëd Zen Vrët suffered from many setbacks, delays, and obsticles, most notably a group of Zbëd Zen Vrët which required millitary assistance exterminate before the community could finish being built.

Zbëd Zen Vrët was built using the conventions of Wood Elven durring the late 11th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Zbëd Zen Vrët is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature delicute timber framework hidden behind layer upon layer of finly ground plaster bleached to an almost glossy white sheen, with green clay tiled roofs and decorative brass-leafed trim. Even the smallest, poorest looking structures appear to be expencive thanks to the extreem elegence of the organic shapes and paterns going into their lofty, spire-y, vagly gothic designs. The more well off folks live in identicle homes, save for even shiner trim and a more whimsical appearance to their structures flowing forms.

Zbëd Zen Vrët is buildings are arranged arrounded highly ordered system of spacious flagstone streets which form hexical paterns, allowing the incides of the octagons to be common grounds for the buildings on the edges, be it for parkland, yardspace, plazas, or markets. The town has a defencive wall made from large clay bricks. The wall is constructed to the exact specifications of millitary fortifications, but the nature of its clay brick construction leaves it vulnerable to even outdated siege equipment. That said, the town is well defended against anything short of an army. Zbëd Zen Vrët's brittle defences are in an unremarkable state. To some, this is the ideal sate for defences to be in. In need of absoutly nothing, and ready to serve the town as needed.

Zbëd Zen Vrët is not quite well. Something happened here, perhapse recently, perhapse long ago. Whatever it was, it settled into the very soul of the town like a festering wound. The people go about their day well enough, but there’s a tention in the air you can cut with a knife. You get the terrible feeling that whatever it was, the wound it left will simply never heal. This town is as a necropolice.

Civic Infrastructure

Zbëd Zen Vrët has an Office of Civil Groundskeeping, which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the construction and upkeep up of all plant life, water features, and other natural decorations within Zbëd Zen Vrët. They are also responsible for the maintenance of these features. Notably, the OCG is not responsible for Zbëd Zen Vrët's parks.

Zbëd Zen Vrët has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within Zbëd Zen Vrët.

Zbëd Zen Vrët has a Gravedigger's Guild, which is responsible for collecting the dead and laying them to rest according to all applicable laws and religious customs.

Zbëd Zen Vrët has a Highwayman's Guild, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.

Zbëd Zen Vrët has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Zbëd Zen Vrët's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.

Zbëd Zen Vrët possesses a Galvanic Power Grid, which brings galvanic current to most if not all buildings in town, and permits a great many consumer goods to function within the Large Town. Zbëd Zen Vrët's grid is powered by hydrogalvanic generators.

Zbëd Zen Vrët's old civil lighting system was converted to Galvanic Lamps recently, and expanded to provide nighttime illumination to all city streets.

Zbëd Zen Vrët has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands. They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Zbëd Zen Vrët's natural decorations nor waterways.

Zbëd Zen Vrët has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Zbëd Zen Vrët has a public septic system, which allows its citizens to have indoor bathrooms. The septic system is overseen by the League of Sewerkeepers, who posses the legal authority to enforce all laws relating to the septic system, and are also tasked with its maintenance and upkeep.

Cultural Notes

The locals are convinced that there is some terrible threat against them working from within their society. It may be a matter of dark sorcerers, foreign spies, traitorous neighbors, shape shifting monsters, or some other hidden evil. This evil may be a recent fear, or it may be an inherited peril they’ve always had to guard against. The danger itself may or may not exist, or if it exists it may not justify the steps being taken.

Zbëd Zen Vrët's chapel was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is best known for the combined use of arcuated and trabeated construction, employing arches and constructed with post and lintel. The arch served as the style's chief structural element, with flanking columns serving as buttresses or decorations. While the general shape of their structures could be generously described as simplistic, the use of these arches and columns created a most distinct ascetic which is easily distinguishable on sight to armatures and experts alike.

Due to the actions of local Kami, summer is short in Zbëd Zen Vrët.

The Bumblebee, Giant Queen near Zbëd Zen Vrët are known to be a mutant strain of the creature.

Zbëd Zen Vrët's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in spring and involves embarking on a group pilgrimage to channel Transmutation energies of tier 3 via moments of science.
